Bereavement & Loss Counselling in Warwickshire

Support Through Loss

Losing someone important to us can be one of the most difficult experiences we face.

Whether your loss was recent or happened many years ago, grief can affect every part of your life. You may find yourself experiencing emotions that feel overwhelming, confusing or difficult to understand.

At times, it can feel as though life has changed in ways you never expected.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve.

Everyone's experience of loss is unique, and there is no set timeline for how long grief should last. Some people feel overwhelmed by sadness, whilst others may feel numb, angry, anxious or disconnected from the world around them. Often, people experience many different emotions at different times.

At Lotus Spirit Therapy, I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about your loss and explore your feelings at your own pace.

Bereavement Affects Everyone Differently

Grief can show up in many ways.

You may experience:

  •  Sadness and tearfulness

  • Shock or disbelief

  •  Anger and frustration

  • Guilt or regret

  •  Anxiety and worry

  • Difficulty sleeping

  •  Feeling emotionally numb

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Changes in confidence or self-esteem

  •  Feeling disconnected from others

Sometimes grief can feel unpredictable. You may feel as though you are coping well one day and struggling the next. This can be a natural part of the grieving process.

Loss Is Not Always About Death

Although bereavement is often associated with the death of someone close to us, there are many forms of loss that can have a significant emotional impact.

These may include:

  • The end of a relationship

  • Divorce or separation

  • Loss of health

  •  Loss of employment

  •  Changes in family relationships

  • Loss of a home

  • Loss of a hoped-for future

Any significant loss can affect our sense of identity, security and wellbeing.

How Counselling Can Help

Grief cannot be fixed or rushed.

Counselling offers a space where you can talk openly about your loss without feeling judged, pressured or misunderstood.

Sometimes people worry they are burdening family or friends with their feelings. Others may feel they need to stay strong for those around them.

Counselling can provide an opportunity to:

  •  Talk about your loss openly

  • Explore difficult emotions

  •  Make sense of your grief

  •  Understand how loss is affecting your life

  •  Adjust to changes and uncertainty

  •  Find ways of coping that feel right for you

Together, we can create space for your grief whilst supporting you to move forward in a way that feels meaningful and manageable.
