Online & Telephone Counselling in Warwickshire

Support Wherever You Are

Whether you're at home, at work, travelling, managing health concerns, or simply feel more comfortable in your own surroundings, online and telephone counselling can provide a flexible way to access support.

Many people are surprised by how natural online and telephone counselling feels. Although we may not be sitting in the same room, you will still have a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk openly about what is going on for you.

At Lotus Spirit Therapy, I offer online and telephone counselling for adults, children and young people across Warwickshire and throughout the UK.

Is Online Counselling Effective?

One of the most common questions people ask is whether online counselling is as effective as face-to-face therapy.

For many people, the answer is yes.

What often matters most is not where the counselling takes place, but the relationship that develops between counsellor and client. Having a space where you feel heard, understood and accepted can support meaningful change, whether we meet in person, online or by telephone.

Some clients even find it easier to talk when they are in familiar surroundings, allowing them to feel more relaxed and comfortable during sessions.

Benefits of Online & Telephone Counselling

Online and telephone counselling can offer:

  •  Greater flexibility around work and family commitments

  • No travel time or parking concerns

  •  Access to counselling from the comfort of your own home

  •  Support whilst travelling or relocating

  •  Easier access for those with health or mobility difficulties

  •  Therapy wherever you are in the UK

  • A confidential and secure space to talk

For some people, removing the stress of travelling to appointments can make it easier to prioritise their wellbeing and engage fully in the counselling process.

Online Counselling

Online counselling takes place via Microsoft Teams.

This allows us to meet face-to-face using a laptop, tablet or smartphone, wherever you are.

Many clients appreciate being able to see their counsellor whilst also having the flexibility of attending sessions from home. It can feel very similar to a face-to-face appointment whilst removing the need to travel.

All you need is:

  •  A stable internet connection

  • A laptop, tablet or smartphone

  •  A private space where you feel comfortable talking

Telephone Counselling

Telephone counselling can be a helpful option if you prefer not to be on camera or feel more comfortable talking without visual distractions.

Some clients find it easier to focus on their thoughts and feelings when they are not concerned about being seen. Others simply prefer the convenience and accessibility that telephone counselling offers.

We will speak at our agreed appointment time and work together in the same supportive and confidential way as we would during a face-to-face session.

 Confidentiality and Privacy

Your privacy is important.

All online and telephone counselling sessions are confidential, secure and never recorded.

As with face-to-face counselling, confidentiality and its limits will be discussed during our first session so that you feel informed and comfortable before we begin working together.

How I Work

My approach remains the same whether we meet face-to-face, online or by telephone.

I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you, helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the challenges you may be facing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be good with technology?

Not at all.

Online counselling is delivered through Microsoft Teams, which is straightforward to use on a laptop, tablet or smartphone. If you feel unsure about using the technology, we can talk through the process beforehand and I will do my best to help you feel comfortable.

What happens if we experience technical difficulties?

Occasionally technology can let us down.

If we experience any connection issues during an online session, we can simply reconnect. If needed, we may be able to continue the session by telephone so that you still have the support and time you have booked.

Can I switch between online, telephone and face-to-face counselling?

In many cases, yes.

Sometimes circumstances change and you may find that a different format works better for you. We can discuss your needs and, where possible, agree an approach that offers the flexibility and support you need.

Is online counselling confidential?

Yes.

Online counselling sessions are conducted using Microsoft Teams and are never recorded. As with face-to-face counselling, confidentiality is taken seriously and will be discussed fully during our first session.

How do I know whether online, telephone or face-to-face counselling is right for me?

There is no right or wrong choice.

Some people prefer the flexibility of online counselling, whilst others feel more comfortable talking by telephone or meeting in person. What matters most is finding an approach that feels safe, comfortable and accessible for you.

If you're unsure, we can discuss the different options during our initial consultation and decide what feels like the best fit.
